my ABS INOP light has been on since i owned the car. Me being the lazy bum i am

I just looked online and found out that is the REAR hatch light is out then it messed up the ground and the ABS light comes on AND the cruise control doesn't work. VERY COOL on my part turning a very expensive fix into a 2 dollar fix!!! Has anyone else heard about this? it seems so bizzare to me. Who the hell worked for GM and came up with this freakin design.
