Default Don't Recommend Pro 5.0

I finally got around to modifying my pro 5.0 after installing it about 2 weeks ago... Ya that's right modifying the original piece since the springs provided didn't exactly feel like doing there jobs and centering the shifter stick. Not to mention that Lou's short shifter stick is not exactly beneficial since the base isn't cut at an angle to compensate for the irregular placement of the shifter within the center console bezel... so I cut the one provided with the shifter assembly.

Here's some pics of putting bolts ontop of the springs but then having to re-adjust again as having both bolts is too much pressure in getting the shifter to go in reverse. So just the one on the passenger side was used. Also what the cut bolts look like and the stick going under the knife Although it was actually all fun doing

Sorry to hear you have issues with your Pro 5.0. I have zero problems with my current configuration, Pro 5.0 Shifter and the New Era Performance t304 Stainless Steel Short shifter. The assembly sits dead center in the console and the shifting is great.

Pro 5.0 here.
Had to modify the springs to have the same centering force from 1-2 and 5-6.
Had to add a rubber gasket between tranny and shifter to avoid noises.
Had to modify the original stick to fit the shifter in order to keep the rubber insert to avoid noises.

Otherwise it shifts fine, I just can't stand the gear noise and I didn't like to cut the boot.

I'm debating on if I want to cut the Pro 5.0 an inch shorter or get a UMI or Lou Short Stick.

as long as the short stick has a slanted mounting surface... the lou short stick I picked up wasn't angled and after installed was sitting way over to the right and basically rubbing on the plastic console

Our short stick is at the same angle as the Pro 5.0 just shorter, so basically the cut handle above would be the similar feel to our short stick. Our total length is 6.375" but allows an additional 1" to be cut off if someone would feel it was still too long, again similar to what was done above just much shorter.

Here is our short stick- www.umiperformance.com/2105

Hope that helps!

I might go with the UMI if I don't cut my Pro 5.0. Lou's jumped way up in price.

I agree here. I have the one from the ws6 store which is not angled at all. I will be switching to the UMI one for sure.
