Default breaking in brakes

Just installed a set of Baer EradiSpeed-PLUS rotors and some Hawk pads. Anyone have a quick way to break these in? Baers website has a laundry list of steps to do, to properly season them. I'm just to lazy.

definitely no hard braking... when braking try not to hold them down longer than 2-5 seconds so they don't heat up, which allows them to cool down.

otherwise most manufactures like them to go through a heat cycle, just a matter really of not overheating them and glazing the rotors, but enough to create a contact groove. congrats on the purchase!

Hawk recommends a pretty simple process which I have followed for every brake purchase I have made. Here is what they suggest and it works great. Plus you get lots of smoke! I have NEVER had a problem with glazing. LOL!!!

Burnishing Instructions:
1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

^^^ Sounds like good advise... I do something similar.

I start at 10mph applying moderate pressure to stop then 20mph then 30mph

from wilwood

Bedding Steps:
Once the brake system has been tested and determined safe to operate the vehicle, follow these steps for bedding of all pad materials and rotors.
1. Begin with a series of 8-10 light stops from approximately 30 MPH down to 15 MPH allowing 20-30 seconds for cooling between each stop.
2. Progress to series of 8-10 moderate stops from around 45 MPH down to 30 MPH allowing the 20-30 second cool down period between each stop.
3. Proceed with a series of 8-10 hard stops from 55-65 MPH down to 25 MPH allowing 20-30 seconds of cool down time between each stop.
4. Drive at a moderate cruising speed, with the least amount of brake contact possible, until most of the heat has dissipated from the brakes. Avoid sitting stopped with the brake pedal depressed to hold the car in place during this time. Park the vehicle and allow the brakes to cool to ambient air temperature.
