Default Rack And Pinion replacement

I'm installing a new rack in my camaro 1994 v6 camaro automatic tommorow and I just want to get maybe a couple of gotcha's or tips before i get tripped up on something. I've never replaced a rack before and from the information i've collected so far it seems fairly straight forward but the most stressed thing is make sure not to let the steering wheels turn while the pinion is off the rack. i assume im going to lose alot of power steering fluid. how would i go about bleeding the pump and hoses? thank you ahead of time guys!
