Default Anyone Running T-Rex w/stock Valvetrain???

Don't want to hurt the drivetrain and have seen a lot of car running this cam as cam only and seeing if anyone just swapped this cam in without upgrading pushrods, lifters, springs, etc.???

Would it take its toll on the valvetrain if ran without upgraded parts over a period of time?

Dont do it.... Thats a big cam and the stock valvetrain will not like it nor be able to handle it! You will need at the minimal springs and pushrods.... Patriot duals can be had for like $250... And i beleive summit sells trick flow pushrods for like $85.

While you in there. I would also recomend a ls2 timming chain and a ported ls6 oil pump... Just my .02

I would say you may get 1 pass out of the car! Pretty positive it will bust a stock valve spring like a twig. Stock springs aren't made to handle a cam with that much lift.

^Sure would.

Like said above, springs and pushrods at a MINIMUM on any cam upgrade. I have seen stock LS1's bend stock pushrods VERY easily with too much RPM.

I would also highly recommend at least an LS2 timing chain (~$42) and either a ported LS6 oil pump or a Melling high volume oil pump as well.

The Patriots are good springs. They're good to .650 lift, and they're what I run in my car. I know that T-REX has a big ass lift, so that's what I would recommend as some aftermarket springs are only good to .600 lift, so be careful and read up on what you buy

ya since the swap is already being done for the cam, might as well upgrade the valvetrain for extra insurance and even more so for such a large lift and overlapping cam

the stock valvetrain wear and become wea with ease with that big daddy in there otherwise you may be better off with a smaller duration cam with less lift which the stock valvetrain is rated to handle
