Thanks

Well I started it today ......but ran into a potentially huge issue......

Basically I have oil shooting out the side of the motor. I had it running for maybe 10 seconds between the 3 starts. The oil seems to be shooting out a port in the side of the block that is not plugged. The pic is of the side of my old motor. The hole is plugged on that motor, but not on the motor in car. The spot is circled.

Sorry guys that I haven't been given updates on the progress. She currently sits in the garage undrivable. Tuning has been a nightmare. Took to dyno and am having some crazy knock issues so I didn't get a good number.

The knock issue is I'll start the car let it idle and then turn it off and start it back up immediately and it has instant 22.4* of knock, but the motor is quiet, no audible knock. When it is knocking: oil pressure is at 70psi, rpm is at 950, wideband is at 13.9, abd the timing goes to -5* the whole time. If I give it some gas the knock disappears and instantly goes back to 0. Then while driving around I'll get random spikes to 15* or 22* of knock. Its driving me crazy.

In a quest to fix the knock I have replaced just about every sensor on the car. I have taken the timing cover off and verified the timing chain was put on correctly. Removed the UIM and LIM and inspected the push rods, lifters, rocker arms. Double checked every torque spec and grounds. Swapped out alternators just for shits and giggles since I had a spare. I also verified TQ bolts were tight. Replaced all 02 Sensors, header bolts are all tight. The exhaust is fully welded on.

This past time when I took it down to heads and block only I reassembled everything, double checking every spec, and she started right up. Then same thing instant knock. Turned it off and back on tapped on gas and heard a god awful noise. This is why I heard the noise.........

(O and these beautiful lifters have < 250miles)

So that's why she just sits in the garage. I bought new lifters and a new cam. I am going with different lifters and I had someone new design my cam. The cam is probably one of the biggest cams to go into a 3800 Not going to say cam specs just yet, but I will say at .05" it's in the 290's of lift . I will be running LS7 lifters.

And here is a random pic from dyno day.....

I got a new cam and lifters in, unfortunately the knock was still there at 22.4*.

So I bought a PCM from PCMForLess. So far there hasn't been the 22.4* of knock with the motor like there was with my old PCM. The next step is to start tuning this new PCM and get it running well.
