Default Black Painted Pacesetters

Anyone ever run these? Thinking of picking these up as a temporily solution until can afford some better stainless quality longtubes. Power should be the same correct? Just a matter of them not holding in head as good?

Default Pace settters

these parts will work just fine as long as you use good grade of gaskets and bolts to attach them with . C Casey

remember that only a few years ago all a body could get was chrome or painted

I would use the stock bolts and buy stock replacment gaskets from GM.

BTW whats the price diffrence between the black and coated headers?

I run Pacesetters in my car!

I've have coated Pacesetters for about 5 years now. I re-torqued the bolts a few times the 1st year, was good to go after that. They fit good to.

thinks it's like $100... black painted ones are about $270. cheapest headers you can buy on the market but not necessarily in quality compared to some others.

...and ya, but new GM MLS gaskets and re use stock bolts

I have the painted headers they fit good no problems here. I would suggest taking that paint off and re spraying with a very high temp paint cause what comes on the headers willl cook off in about 2 min.

Why dont you just save your money a little longer to get the ceramic ones? Instead of going through the hassle of changing headers twice. Plus its only about 100 to 200 dollar difference between the two. IMO put the ceramic pacesetters on once and be done with it.
