Default ebay opti FTL

My 94 camaro began running like crap this past weekend, it would barly start, and could barley pull its self up to speed. So after a little bit of trouble shooting we decied to pull off the opti spark, and to my surprize it was completly full of oil, and the opti did not even turn smooth. Since it filled with oil it also completly fouled out my plugs too. so i learned the lesson the hard way, there is a difference between a $75 ebay opti, and a $400 OEM one.

Maybe the guy you bought it from dumbly thought he was being smart, and filled the thing with oil to keep it "lubricated." It's not the first time I've seen this kind of thinking. My dad's 94 Ford Bronco was bought virtually completely broken mechanically. The moron who owned it before was doing some transmission work (automatic, BTW), and he drained both the transmission and transfer case of fluid. When he went to refill it, he only filled the transmission itself with new fluid with 3 quarts extra, thinking that those 3 extra quarts will magically travel into the transfer case. Now I personally didn't get to see where the transfer case sits, but I was assured that it does have its own separate resevoir. I would think a Chilton's manual would tell you that.

Back on topic, that's what I think might have happened, but anything else could have happened instead. Anyway, good luck with it.

could have came from the timing chain cover, the round seals where the cam drive comes through could be bad or leaking some and it got into the opti, mine was when i changed it.
